Festival/Tokyo

The Arts Network Japan has been a host to the Tokyo International Arts Festival annually until spring 2008. Due to the cooperation with governmental institutions the festival was re-launched in 2009 under the new name of “Festival/Tokyo”. The Arts Network Japan acts as one of the festival organizers and operates the festival office. Currently Japan’s largest festival of Performing Arts, the Festival/Tokyo is mainly based in the area of Ikebukuro, where it plays at several venues in the district such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre. It is representing not only Tokyo and Japan but also the whole of Asia, renowned for its cutting-edge line-up of domestic and overseas artists, and its program of interactive and participatory events.
