[MAP]
In the same generation as Hijikata Tatsumi and Ohno Kazuo, Ohno Yoshito and Kasai Akira at last come together for their duo debut. Ohno Yoshito first worked with Hijikata Tatsumi in Kinjiki in 1959 as a child performer. Ohno Yoshito has directed all of Ohno Kazuo's productions since 1986. In comparison to Ohno Yoshito's relatively subtle, if not introverted style, Kasai Akira's performances are very highly charged. From its beginnings in the 1960's, Kasai has developed the movements of Butoh and later worked with and developed the skills of a large number of dancers for his 1971 production of Tenshikan. To further study Eurhythmy, Kasai traveled to Germany in 1979. While continuing with Butoh, Kasai has worked tirelessly to increase awareness of Eurhythmy. Most recently he has worked with Kuniko Kisanuki and Kim Ito in a variety of productions. Audiences will appreciate the maturity of this coming production by this accomplished and much in demanded duo, Kasai Akira and Ohno Yoshito.
