[MAP]
Jan Durovcik is a charismatic and energetic man who holds command over his talents as a choreographer and theatrical director so much so that tickets to his performances are near impossible to come by in Europe and America. After the fall of the old regime, Jan and his artistic contemporaries seem to have absorbed western culture and with a renewed direction and a somewhat ironic stance on Eastern Europe. Jan's performances go beyond dance, they make use of theatrics and projected imagery on stage to fully involve and captivate the audience. Said to be reminiscent of the great musical West Side Story with its message of American culture, Jan Durovcik's "Romeo + Juliet" presents us with a gripping and innovative interpretation of the Shakespeare classic. With new themes, music and an outstanding dance routine, this production marks their first performance in Japan and one not to be missed.
