[MAP (in Japanese)]
Contemporary dance in Japan has gained wide popularity in recent years. Based in West Japan, Zan Yamashita is the very spirited dancer and choreographer of this most recent production. Combining all the usual elements of dance, Yamashita makes an amazing performance with the inclusion of dialogue, adding a new face to physical dance. "An Invisible Man", first shown in May 2003 at the Ai Hall in Hyogo was also choreographed by Zan Yamashita. Yamashita's simultaneous reading of "An Invisible Man" interprets the performance of the dancers on stage. This reproduction of "An Invisible Man" including a lot of new dancers is a new and revitalized performance that will urge all of us to think again about dance as we know it.
