Family members gather in the annex of a large country home after the funeral of their almost 100 year old grandfather. The small room that was once his living quarters is now occupied by his grandchildren. All excepting the eldest grandson are now living separate lives away from home and seem almost as strangers to one another in this most recent of family gatherings, tomorrow they will part once again... The long separation bares witness to the fading affection felt for each other but at the surprise announcement of the youngest granddaughter old feelings are rekindled... Hirosaki Theatre Company draws again from the often expressed theme of everyday life and family values and "A House with a Big Tree" represents one of their most outstanding accomplishments in this its fourth production since 1994.
