| Seitaikei Kazu-kun (ECOSYS: KAZU-KUN):
A family comes together in rural Kyushu for the funeral of their grandmother. Kazu-kun, an animal somewhat like a cat but representing a complete ecological system unto herself, is represented calmly and merrily attempting to bring the matriarch back from the other side... All members are gathered in an eerie and indifferent atmosphere. Conversing in a Nagasaki dialect of love, the disappointment, loneliness, morbid love and harshness of life on parents, children, brothers, cousins, and couples.
Kazu-kun Tabi-ni Deru (The Journeys of Kazu-kun):
Kazu-kun and all the other creatures that inhabit the stage live in a small country area of Boukazuri, but don't be fooled this is not a play for children. While there is plenty of singing this is not a musical, and while Boukazuri may seem like a tiny area to us, it represents a world of journey to Kazu-kun and her friends. Presented on the same stage, these two plays take a vivid look into the unknown depths of life and death. |
